CM Yogi calls for special cleanliness drive till April 24, urges focus on rural areas
Kanpur : In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Kanpur on April 24, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired an important review meeting at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology on Sunday. The meeting focused on ensuring seamless preparations for the upcoming event, with the Chief Minister issuing clear directions to strengthen arrangements.
CM Yogi instructed officials to ensure that the roads from the helipad at the university to the program venue are properly repaired. He emphasized the cleaning of overgrown bushes and suggested interlocking of roads if needed.
CM Yogi ordered installation of large LED screens at the event site so the general public can watch the program clearly. He also directed the deployment of 10 party workers in each of the 30 blocks to assist attendees until the program concludes.
Additional preparations include arrangements for clean toilets, safe drinking water, and distribution of jaggery (gur) to attendees. To ensure smooth transportation to the venue, the Chief Minister ordered that 800 buses be made available. A well-planned parking system was also stressed to avoid traffic congestion.
Calling for a mass participation in cleanliness efforts, CM Yogi urged the municipal corporation, public representatives, and party organizations to run a special cleanliness drive till April 24. The campaign will focus on a plastic-free environment, effective waste disposal, and showcasing a clean and beautiful Kanpur.
Towards the end of the meeting, CM Yogi congratulated the people of Kanpur on the availability of 16 km of metro connectivity and assured that the remaining stretch would also be operational soon, offering citizens a smooth and traffic-free travel experience.
Foundation stone and inauguration of major projects to take place

▪️ Kanpur Metro Rail Project (7 km stretch) – Rs 2,120 crore

▪️ 100-bed Hospital in Kidwai Nagar
▪️ Rail Over Bridge at Panki Dham Crossing
▪️ Rail Over Bridge at Panki Power House Railway Crossing
▪️ Widening of the GT Road stretch from Tauns to Narwal to Aakhri to Kudhani
▪️ Power substations and transmission lines in Ecotech-8, Ecotech-10, and Sector-28 of Greater Noida
