IAS, IPS Officers Showcase Sporting Skills on Civil Services Day
Jaipur : On the eve of Civil Services Day, IAS and IPS officers showcased their athletic prowess through various sports competitions at the ‘Civil Services Cup – 2025’ held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Events included cricket, tug of war, chess, and more. Table tennis, lawn tennis, and badminton competitions are scheduled for April 21 at the SMS Stadium.
The foundation of India’s civil services as the “Steel Frame of India” was laid by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in his historic address at Metcalfe House, Delhi, on April 21, 1947. Since then, civil servants have upheld this legacy by contributing to the nation’s progress—whether it be bringing underdeveloped regions into the mainstream, handling pandemics like COVID-19, tackling terrorism, or responding to natural disasters.
Civil Services Day is celebrated annually on April 21 to honour the invaluable service of India’s civil servants. The day also serves as a reminder of the core values that define Indian civil services—honesty, dedication, and impartiality.
