Repair of 909 Handpumps Completed in Surajpur District
Raipur : In view of the potential drinking water crisis in rural areas during the summer season, the Surajpur district administration has taken up the repair of water sources, especially handpumps, on a war footing. Under the direction of Collector Mr. S. Jayavardhan, a special handpump repair fortnight was observed from 1st to 15th April 2025, during which a total of 909 handpumps were repaired and made functional.
According to information received from the Public Health Engineering Department, as soon as complaints related to handpumps are received via mobile or the toll-free number, the repair team is immediately dispatched to the site to resolve the issue. The department has ensured that no complaint remains pending for more than three days.
