Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the oath-taking and felicitation ceremony of the newly appointed Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Nishaktjan Finance and Development Corporation, held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Medical College, Raipur. On this occasion, he extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed Chairman, Shri Lokesh Kawadia.
Making a key announcement from the stage, CM Sai declared that the name of the Chhattisgarh Nishaktjan Finance and Development Corporation will now be changed to Chhattisgarh Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation. During the event, 15 differently-abled beneficiaries were provided with financial loans, 11 beneficiaries received interest subsidies for loan repayments, and hearing aids were distributed to individuals with hearing impairments.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Sai stated that the state government is committed to the holistic development of persons with disabilities. He emphasized that special efforts are being undertaken by the government of Chhattisgarh to improve the standard of living for Divyang citizens. He proposed conducting surveys to identify the needs of Divyang children and offering them loans for starting businesses or new startups, thereby enabling tangible improvements in their lives.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, remarked that every possible effort must be made to bring happiness and progress to the lives of persons with disabilities. He recalled that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, he had shown a deep affection for Divyang individuals. He added that the government has now entrusted this crucial responsibility to a highly experienced social worker, ensuring direct benefits for the Divyang community.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade highlighted that the government is working on the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” by economically empowering Divyang individuals and focusing on their skill development. She also congratulated Shri Lokesh Kawadia on his new role.
As part of the celebration, students from the Government School for the Disabled in Mana presented a captivating song that enthralled the audience. Additionally, hearing-impaired students from Rajnandgaon performed a patriotic dance.
The event was also attended by Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Motilal Sahu, and Shri Purandar Mishra; Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation Smt. Meenal Chaubey; chairpersons of various boards and commissions; officials and staff of the corporation; and a large number of Divyang students.
