Third Special Flight Arrives with 232 Passengers; Over 800 Tourists Repatriated So Far, Buses Arranged for Further Travel
Efforts Underway to Repatriate Pakistani Nationals on a War Footing: CM Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the list of Pakistani nationals residing in Maharashtra has been obtained, and efforts to send them back are being carried out on a war footing. He was addressing the media while confirming that a third special flight arranged by the state government has landed in Mumbai, carrying 232 passengers returning from Kashmir after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar was present to receive them. For passengers from Akola and Amravati, the government also arranged buses for onward travel. So far, approximately 800 tourists have been successfully brought back to Maharashtra.
CM Fadnavis stated that every police station in the state has been notified about the list of Pakistani nationals. Strict monitoring is in place to ensure that no Pakistani national remains in the state for more than 48 hours. Those found overstaying will face strict legal action. He added that these measures are being taken in accordance with directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with whom discussions have already been held.
The third special flight arrived after two earlier flights brought back 184 passengers. In total, these three flights have repatriated 416 tourists from Maharashtra, while around 800 have returned through other means. The state government has also received around 60 to 70 more requests for assistance from stranded tourists, and arrangements are being made to bring them back safely. The state will continue to respond to new requests and ensure the return of all affected travelers.
