Vari represents the energy to conquer the mind and to serve the people of the state, empowering them to fulfill all their wishes. Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar expressed these sentiments.
The Cultural Department is sending two Chitraraths to participate in the Ashadhi Vari to educate the people and disseminate information about government schemes. Minister Mungantiwar launched one of these Chitraraths today from the Mantralaya Precinct. He expressed his joy that his art team is promoting faith, identity, and tradition through the Wari, extending his best wishes.
Present at the event were Principal Secretary Vikas Kharge, Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs Vibhishan Chavere, Deputy Secretary of the Department Nanda Raut, along with ministry officials and employees.
Minister Mungantiwar mentioned that Maharashtra has a tradition of envy. He noted that observing the expressions of the Warkaris reveals them as the happiest pilgrims in the world. He also announced his intention to propose UNESCO nominate the Pandharpur Vari, symbolizing faith and identity, for global recognition as a special spiritual event.
Pandharpur holds cultural and spiritual significance for Maharashtra. Devotees from across the country and abroad visit to experience the Pandharpur Vari. The images of saints such as Saint Sakhu, Saint Nirmala, Saint Kanhopatra, Saint Janabai, Saint Muktabai, and Saint Mahdamba will be used to enlighten devotees through Powada, Pathantya, and Bharud art forms. Additionally, information on disaster management measures, disaster preparedness, and government assistance will be provided through Chitraratha from Pune.
The art team performed compositions by Saint Kesavadas, “Writing a call and knowing it for a hundred years… Chanting ‘Dnyaneshwar Maharaj ki Jai, Tukaram Maharaj ki Jai’ echoed through the Mantralaya area. Twenty-four artists from the Prithvi Theater art team performed on this occasion, with Shahir Yashwant Jadhav presenting Abhangs.
