“I am First” Scheme and All India Civil Services Examination Training Center
Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. K. Stalin attended the event at the Anna Nagar Government Employee College, Chennai. During the event, he addressed the students involved in the “I am First” scheme and the All India Civil Services Examination Training Center and distributed certificates of appreciation to 50 students.
The All India Civil Services Examination Training Center, located in the lush, serene Himalayas of Tamil Nadu, offers training for aspiring civil service candidates, providing courses, meals, and accommodation. Specifically, this training center has been operating for 58 years, benefiting rural students and preparing them for national-level civil services exams.
For the 2024 Civil Services Examination, 216 aspirants were fully trained at this center. As an incentive, students were given ₹3000 for three months, totaling ₹9000. Among them, 48 aspirants qualified for the civil services exam. Furthermore, mock personality tests were conducted at the training center. The students who participated in these mock tests were also provided with ₹5000 as part of the encouragement.
Through this training center, aspirants attending personality tests in New Delhi were provided ₹5000 as an incentive. It was announced that for the year 2025-26, the government would increase the financial incentives to ₹50,000 for training and travel expenses.
“I am First” Scheme – Incentive Scheme for Students
In the financial year 2023-2024, the scheme will continue to support the civil services exam aspirants through training centers and encourage students through various scholarships and incentives. As part of this, every year, 1000 students will be selected for the scheme. Selected candidates will receive ₹7,500 per month for ten months, and ₹25,000 for those who qualify the final exam.
As per this scheme, 276 out of 1000 aspirants successfully passed the civil service exam. Among them, 134 students attended the personality tests, and 50 students from both the All India Civil Services Training Center and “I am First” scheme successfully qualified for the exam.
Notably, Mr. P. Chandran, an aspirant from the All India Civil Services Examination Training Center, secured the 23rd rank nationwide and 1st rank at the state level. Similarly, Ms. R. Thaniga, an aspirant, secured the 39th rank nationwide and 4th rank at the state level. Additionally, Mr. S. G. Sankar Pandiyaraj and Mr. B. Kamaraj, who were differently-abled, participated in the exam and achieved great success.
Finally, to honor the 50 students who successfully passed the civil services exams, an appreciation ceremony was held at the Anna Nagar Government Employee College, Chennai, where certificates and other awards were distributed.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister of Rural Development Mr. N. Kayalvizi Selaraj, Tamil Nadu’s Secretary of Civil Services, and several senior government officials.
