Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Inaugurates 7th Aadi Utsav in Ramnagar, Mandla
Grand Celebration Held on the Banks of River Narmada
Raipur : The seventh edition of the Aadi Utsav was ceremoniously inaugurated on Sunday, May 4, in Ramnagar, located in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, on the banks of the holy River Narmada. The grand event drew guests from across the country, adding grace to the celebration. Among the dignitaries present on the opening day were Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnudev Sai, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram, and Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, along with several other prominent personalities.
The two-day festival commenced with several initiatives aimed at public welfare. On the first day, a Maha Arogya Shivir (Mega Health Camp) was organized to provide healthcare services to the people. Additionally, a special camp for persons with disabilities was held in collaboration with ALIMCO to distribute assistive devices and artificial limbs. The event also featured continuous cultural performances, showcasing rich tribal traditions and heritage.
Guests at the event visited the health camp, the assistive devices distribution camp, and the Millet Festival. Tribal musical ensembles like the Gudum troupe, tribal dances, and various other traditional cultural performances captivated the audience. A seminar was also held in the afternoon as part of the festival.
Various government departments set up stalls to exhibit their welfare schemes. Food stalls were also installed by the Agriculture Department and the State Rural Livelihood Mission. On the first day of the Aadi Utsav, a large number of tribal priests known as Panda and Bhumka, who preserve indigenous rituals and traditions, participated in the celebration, both from within and outside the district.
