ECI Engages Political Parties in 4,719 Consultations on Poll Process
Raipur : The Election Commission of India (ECI) held consultations with political parties today to discuss the electoral process.
Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Gyanesh Kumar along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi met a delegation of the National People’s Party (NPP) led by its President Mr. Conrad Sangma at the Commission’s office.
Officials from the Election Commission of India stated that a total of 4,719 all-party meetings have been held so far. These included 40 meetings with Chief Electoral Officers, 800 with District Election Officers, and 3,879 meetings with Electoral Registration Officers, in which more than 28,000 representatives of various political parties participated.
It is noteworthy that the Election Commission is conducting interactions with presidents of various national and state political parties. The objective is to share views on several electoral issues and further strengthen the electoral process within the existing legal framework through collaboration with all stakeholders.
It is also significant that, as part of this ongoing initiative, the Election Commission had recently met with delegations led by Ms. Mayawati, President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on May 6, 2025, Mr. Jagat Prakash Nadda, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on May 8, 2025, and Mr. M.A. Baby, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on May 10, 2025.
