Amit Shah Hails Operation Sindoor, Says Terror Camps Destroyed Deep Inside Pakistan

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday praised the Indian Army’s bold response through Operation Sindoor, stating that for the first time since Independence, the armed forces struck as deep as 100 kilometers inside Pakistan to destroy terror infrastructure. Shah made these remarks while addressing a public event in Pethapur, Gujarat.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in retaliation to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people. The Indian military response targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reportedly killing over 100 terrorists associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Speaking alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the inauguration of a new primary health center and other development projects, Shah emphasized the significance of the operation. “Under Operation Sindoor, we destroyed the headquarters of terrorist groups like Jaish and Lashkar. Nine major sites used for training and sheltering terrorists were wiped out,” he said.

He further noted, “This is the first time since Independence that our forces struck 100 kilometers inside Pakistan. Even after eliminating over 100 dreaded terrorists, we went ahead and destroyed 15 of their airbases. Importantly, we didn’t harm civilians, but crippled their airstrike capability.”

Shah underlined that the response was a clear and powerful message to those plotting terror against India. “The echo of our bomb blasts has reached their ears. Those hiding in places like Sialkot, planning international terror activities, now know that any attack on Indian soil will be met with double the force.”

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for this decisive action, saying, “Since Modi ji came to power, India has responded strongly to terrorism. The world is surprised by our response, and Pakistan is scared.”

Shah also spoke about India’s improved air defense. “Pakistan once dared to challenge us across the western border, but under PM Modi, our air defense has become so robust that not a single missile or drone has breached Indian territory,” he said.

Touching on Pakistan’s nuclear threats, Shah remarked, “Earlier they would try to scare us by saying they have nuclear weapons. But our Army, Navy, and Air Force have responded so strongly that the world now praises the courage of our armed forces and the strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”

Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling and drone attacks along the Line of Control. In response, India launched a coordinated counterstrike, targeting 11 Pakistani airbases. Indian forces successfully damaged radar systems, communication hubs, and airfields.

Operation Sindoor has been widely seen as a landmark military response and a statement of India’s new security doctrine—one that does not hesitate to take bold and offensive measures to protect national sovereignty and deter terrorism.
