Inter-State Crop Competition for Food Grains and Pulses Announced
Mumbai : To boost crop productivity in the state, farmers are encouraged to experiment with new techniques. Rewarding these innovative farmers with incentives will enhance their morale and motivate them to adopt updated technologies, ultimately increasing agricultural production. The state’s crop competition scheme aims to guide and inspire other farmers by showcasing successful methods, thereby contributing to the state’s overall agricultural output. Agriculture Commissioner Ravindra Binwade has urged maximum farmer participation in the Kharif season 2024 crop competition.
The Department of Agriculture has organized a crop competition for general and tribal groups during Kharif season 2024, covering 11 crops: rice, sorghum, bajri, maize, ragi, tur, moong, udid, soybean, groundnut, and sunflower.
Key Features and Details:
- Application Deadlines:
- July 31 for Moong and Udid
- August 31 for Paddy, Sorghum, Bajri, Maize, Ragi, Tur, Soybean, Groundnut, and Sunflower
- Entry Fees:
- Rs. 300 per crop for general and tribal groups
- Eligibility:
- Farmers must own land in their name
- Minimum land requirement: 20 R for rice, 40 R (1 acre) for other crops
- Competition Levels:
- Organized at the taluka level with winners progressing to district and state levels
Application Requirements:
- Application in prescribed format (Form-A)
- Receipt of entry fee payment
- Excerpt from 7/12, 8-A
- Caste certificate (for tribal participants)
- Marked map of declared area for the competition
- Scanned copy of the first page of bank account cheque/passbook

- State Level:
- First place: Rs. 50,000
- Second place: Rs. 40,000
- Third place: Rs. 30,000
- District Level:
- First place: Rs. 10,000
- Second place: Rs. 7,000
- Third place: Rs. 5,000
- Taluka Level:
- First place: Rs. 5,000
- Second place: Rs. 3,000
- Third place: Rs. 2,000
