Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai Visits Remote Bijrakachar Village in Mungeli, Draws Massive Crowd at Su-Shasan Tihar Grievance Camp
Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the remote and hilly village of Bijrakachar in Mungeli district today as part of the third phase of the Su-Shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival). His unexpected arrival was met with joyous faces and enthusiastic response from local villagers. This was the first time a Chief Minister had visited this tribal-dominated region, home to the particularly vulnerable Baiga tribe, located near the state border.

CM Sai officially inaugurated the grievance redressal camp by lighting a ceremonial lamp before the idols of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and Goddess Saraswati. Traditional tribal women and farmers welcomed him with garlands and festive dances. He was joined by Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, and other public representatives.
During the event, CM Sai made several key announcements including the establishment of a new college in Dindori, the upgradation of the PHC in Khudiya, and the construction of a new hostel in Lormi. He interacted warmly with villagers and directly addressed their concerns.
The Bijrakachar cluster camp included 14 gram panchayats like Boirha, Khudiya, Mahamai, Nivaskhar, Surhi, Katami, Lamni, Chaparwa, Achanakmar, Darwaza, Karidongri, Dongrigharh, and Jhiria. CM Sai engaged with beneficiaries, reviewed the implementation of government schemes, and distributed welfare materials.
Key distributions included:
- 5 Ayushman Bharat health cards
- 5 ration cards
- 20 bond certificates under the Noni Suraksha Scheme
- ₹5.55 lakh in checks to 6 beneficiaries from the Cooperative Department
- PM Awas Yojana keys and sanction letters to 33 beneficiaries
- Working capital funds to women self-help groups
- “Lakhpati Didi” certificates to 3 women
- Job cards under MNREGA to 23 beneficiaries
- Incentives to bright students from Tendu leaf-collecting families
- Safari jeep keys to women SHGs for Achanakmar jungle safari from the Forest Department
Addressing the gathering, CM Sai highlighted that the government, in just one and a half years, had fulfilled most guarantees promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In its first cabinet meeting on December 13, the government approved housing for 18 lakh families. He assured that those yet to receive houses under the ongoing housing survey (ending May 15) would also be included.
He noted that paddy was being procured at ₹3,100 per quintal and payments were being directly transferred. Mothers not yet enrolled in the Mahtari Vandana Scheme would soon be added. Women benefiting from the scheme are using the funds to invest in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. The government is also procuring Tendu leaves at ₹5,500 per standard bag. Under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme, senior citizens are being taken on religious tours.
Over 5.6 lakh landless laborers have received benefits under the Kisan Samman Yojana. The government is eliminating corruption through digital governance, and strict action is being taken against wrongdoers.
Union Minister Tokhan Sahu praised CM Sai for earnestly implementing PM Modi’s guarantees. He said the government was serious about every promise and prioritizing the PM Awas Yojana. He stressed that the aim is to ensure no poor person in the state goes hungry, and that rice is being supplied even in the remotest tribal areas. Every home now has a toilet and access to clean drinking water. Through the Mahtari Vandana Yojana, women are receiving ₹1,000 monthly, enhancing their dignity and financial independence.
Deputy CM Arun Sao emphasized that CM Sai, a son of the tribal community, had personally come to meet his people. He noted that the Achanakmar region had long faced challenges, but the new government had ensured basic amenities and launched solution camps to address people’s issues. He reaffirmed that the Sai government was implementing each of Modi’s guarantees and driving Chhattisgarh forward on a path of continuous development.
Also present were Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the CM Subodh Singh, Secretary P. Dayanand, other officials, and villagers.
It’s worth noting that grievance redressal camps under Su-Shasan Tihar are helping address public demands across the state. The administration is committed to delivering the benefits of governance to the last person. In Mungeli district, 1,29,573 applications were received, with 1,29,565 already resolved. In the Bijrakachar cluster alone, 7,970 applications were received—including 7,917 requests and 53 complaints—with 7,964 successfully resolved.

A total of 116 new ration cards were issued, 61 name corrections made, 2 labor cards created, and 142 new registrations under Mahtari Vandana Yojana. Additionally, 31 pension applications and 23 new entries under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi were recorded.
