Concrete Decisions by Minister Pankaja Munde to Strengthen the Department

Mumbai To enhance the efficiency of the Animal Husbandry Department, Minister Pankaja Munde has taken several decisive steps. Following the recruitment for 2,795 posts of Livestock Development Officers, the government has now initiated the recruitment process for 311 posts of Assistant Commissioner, Animal Husbandry. The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released an official advertisement and started the process.

In a determined effort to make the department fully functional, Minister Munde, under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has begun implementing key decisions.

Recognizing the challenges faced by farmers and livestock owners due to staff shortages, the department decided to fill crucial vacancies. Earlier, the minister had submitted a request to MPSC for recruiting 2,795 Livestock Development Officers under Group A of the Animal Husbandry Services.

Now, following up at the administrative level, the government has decided to recruit 311 Assistant Commissioners in the Animal Husbandry Group A category, and a formal request has been submitted to the MPSC. Minister Munde has actively followed up to expedite the recruitment process.

MPSC has begun accepting applications for these 311 Assistant Commissioner posts, with the last date for submission being June 20, 2025.

Accelerating Departmental Efficiency

Minister Munde stated that completing this recruitment swiftly will provide the department with capable and well-trained officers, enabling it to function at full capacity. This will significantly benefit rural areas by improving the quality and speed of services offered to livestock farmers.
