Transparency and Progress Stressed in Departmental Work; Detailed Review of Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT-2 Progress

Jaipur – Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Shri Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary conducted a review meeting at the Jhunjhunu Collectorate on Friday, evaluating the progress of various departmental schemes in the district. He conducted a detailed review of the Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT-2 schemes, directing officials to accelerate progress with transparency.

Shri Chaudhary instructed officials to ensure that all drinking water-related projects announced in the budget are approved within the next 15 days. Acknowledging the severe water shortage in the district, especially in Pilani, Buhana, Surajgarh, and Udaipurwati, he emphasized the need for a permanent action plan. With groundwater levels dropping alarmingly, alternative sources of drinking water will be planned. He also noted that under the Kumbaram Lift Project, 1,200 villages across three districts will soon be connected, with the tender process nearing completion.

The PHED Minister instructed officials to ensure strong monitoring under Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT-2 and take concrete steps to supply water to every household. He directed officials to prepare a list of villages, categorized by constituency, that still lack water supply. Emphasizing the goal of the Jal Jeevan Mission, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated the mission aims to ensure clean tap water to every household for the next 30 years. He also shared that, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, adequate funds have been allocated for summer contingency planning based on district needs.

A comprehensive review of the implementation of state budget announcements was also undertaken. Public representatives from the district highlighted the water-related issues in their areas.

The meeting was attended by District Collector Shri Ramavatar Meena; Jhunjhunu MLA Shri Rajendra Bhambu; Pilani MLA Shri Pitram Singh; Udaipurwati MLA Shri Bhagwanaram Saini; former MPs Smt. Santosh Ahlawat and Shri Narendra Kumar; former MLAs Shri Shubhkaran Chaudhary and Shri Banwarilal Saini; and PHED officials.
