Indian Delegation Meets Diaspora in Kuwait, Reaffirms Zero Tolerance on Terrorism

Kuwait City: A multi-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, met with members of the Indian diaspora in Kuwait to convey India’s united and unwavering stand against terrorism. The visit is part of India’s wider diplomatic outreach following the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, showcasing the country’s commitment to countering terrorism globally.

During the interaction, the delegation explained India’s new, assertive approach to terrorism, particularly in response to state-sponsored attacks from Pakistan. Members of the Indian community in Kuwait praised the delegation’s efforts. One diaspora member remarked, “The presentation by the Indian delegation was very precise and powerful. The message was crystal clear—India will do whatever it takes to ensure peace, even if that means going to war.”

Another member referred to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 civilians were killed. “It was a horrific crime against humanity,” he said. “India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism was well-explained by the delegation. We now feel more responsible and empowered to share this message globally. We will act as ambassadors of this cause.”

Leading the outreach, Baijayant Panda reiterated that India will no longer remain silent in the face of terrorism emanating from Pakistan. He emphasized that India’s response will be strong and decisive. “We are clear that there will be no more silence. India will respond to terrorism with full force,” he said. He also condemned Pakistan for spreading misinformation and demanded concrete action to dismantle terror infrastructure operating from its territory.

Panda praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties with Gulf countries, particularly Kuwait. “The meetings here have been excellent. We met with the Deputy Prime Minister and other key leaders. India and Kuwait share a relationship that goes back centuries,” he noted. “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, our global diplomatic presence has grown tremendously. When PM Modi visited Kuwait, he was honored with their highest civilian award, which speaks volumes about the depth of our relationship.”

He also pointed out that Kuwait itself has been a victim of terrorism and understands India’s situation. “Kuwait has voiced its opposition to terrorism on international platforms and issued strong statements in solidarity with India after the Pahalgam attack,” Panda said. “We have tried everything—treaties, cricket diplomacy, goodwill visits—but Pakistan continues to sponsor terrorism. The time has come to take a new approach. We will not tolerate nuclear blackmail, and we will retaliate when our people are harmed.”

In his remarks, Panda stressed that India is also applying economic pressure on Pakistan to dismantle its terror networks. “We have initiated several economic measures related to trade, shipping, water, and visas. The aim is to create enough pressure for Pakistan to act against terror groups that operate freely on its soil,” he explained. “These are organizations banned by the United Nations and other global bodies. Their presence poses a threat not just to India, but to international peace.”

The delegation also discussed the possibility of renewed global pressure on Pakistan, including revisiting its status on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list. “Yes, FATF was one of the issues discussed during our meetings,” Panda confirmed. “We are conveying the need for the international community to act collectively. A combination of political, economic, and financial measures must be applied to compel Pakistan to give up terrorism.”

Panda further praised the role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening India’s diplomatic presence around the world. “Our expatriates have become a powerful force in diplomacy, especially under the leadership of PM Modi,” he said. “In Kuwait, Indians are highly respected for their hard work, integrity, and contributions across sectors. They are a key part of India’s global identity.”

The delegation’s visit is part of a larger campaign by the Indian government to engage with global stakeholders following Operation Sindoor—a counter-terrorism military operation launched after the Pahalgam attack. The campaign includes dispatching delegations to various countries to highlight Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism and reinforce India’s position of zero tolerance.

Members of the all-party delegation included leaders from across the political spectrum, underlining India’s unified voice on national security issues. Their mission in Kuwait not only helped convey India’s message to the host country but also empowered the Indian diaspora to act as global advocates for India’s stand against terrorism.

Through these engagements, India continues to build international support for its counter-terrorism efforts while fostering stronger diplomatic and community ties across the globe.
