‘Balrampur BioYug’ – A Step Towards the Bio-Era: CM Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai : Addressing the growing crisis of climate change, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the very existence of Earth is now under threat, making it essential for everyone to change their lifestyle. He emphasized that the “BioYug” (Bio Era) offers a viable solution, and that PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a promising and eco-friendly alternative.
Fadnavis was speaking at the launch of the “Balrampur BioYug” initiative held at the Jio Convention Centre. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, representative Dr. Omkar Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of ‘Balrampur BioYug’ Vivek Sarogi, and members of the MSME sector.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to reduce plastic usage and highlighted PLA as a biodegradable alternative that holds promise for the future. He further noted that the adoption of PLA technology can make the sugar industry more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Referring to issues faced by the sugar industry, Fadnavis mentioned that while the central government allocates an export quota—including to Uttar Pradesh—that state lacks port access. He expressed confidence that cooperative efforts between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh would help resolve such challenges. He also assured support for such projects in Maharashtra and invited entrepreneurs from Uttar Pradesh to consider setting up bio-industrial ventures in the state.
