Departmental Review Meeting Held for Udaipur Division | Inspection of Jal Jeevan Mission Works in Sundari Village, Chittorgarh
Jaipur : Additional Chief Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department, Shri Bhaskar A. Sawant, visited the Udaipur Division on Wednesday. During his tour, he inspected the works under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Sundari village of Gangrar tehsil in Chittorgarh district and interacted with the local residents. While discussing the benefits of the scheme with villagers, he emphasized the importance of proper operation and maintenance responsibilities.
Shri Sawant also inspected works sanctioned under the Summer Augmentation Fund at Gangrar headquarters, recommended by the District Collector.
Later, he chaired a departmental review meeting at the Udaipur District Collector’s office, which included officials from Udaipur and Banswara divisions. The meeting reviewed the progress of summer augmentation works, budget announcements, Jal Jeevan Mission, major water projects, regularization of illegal water connections, prompt resolution of complaints received on the Rajasthan Sampark portal, and water transportation.
He stated that around 97% of summer augmentation works have been completed and instructed officials to complete the remaining 3% within the next 10 days. Pending solar pump installation works under the budget announcement must be completed within 15 days.
Highlighting the importance of uninterrupted drinking water supply during the summer, the Additional Chief Secretary instructed that water transportation be arranged wherever required, following the prescribed guidelines. He also directed all Superintending Engineers to expedite quality resolution of complaints received on the Rajasthan Sampark portal, accelerate the process of regularizing illegal water connections, and complete Jal Jeevan Mission works through intensive review.
Referring to the upcoming Chief Minister Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan to be held from June 5 to June 20, Shri Sawant instructed that all departmental water sources and reservoirs must be cleaned on a priority basis. Necessary identification and action for water conservation and saving activities should also be taken up during the campaign period, and achievements should be widely publicized through the media.
He further emphasized that for projects nearing the end of their operational and maintenance periods, proposals for renewal must be prepared and submitted without delay.
The review meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer (Projects), Additional Chief Engineers from Udaipur and Banswara, all Superintending Engineers of the divisions, Executive Engineers posted at the Udaipur headquarters, and senior chemists. Chief Engineers also joined the meeting via video conference from headquarters.
