Nava Raipur’s Retail Complex: A New Hub for Modern Entertainment and Technological Innovation

Nava Raipur is emerging as a model of modern urban development with the newly built Central Business District (CBD)—a six-storey retail and commercial complex spanning 2.65 lakh sq ft near the new Nava Raipur Railway Station. This landmark project is poised to become the face of India’s first smart city, combining commerce, culture, technology, and public services under one roof.

Currently, the CBD houses the Miraj Multiplex, IP Club Restaurant, and the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Office. Soon, it will also host a state-of-the-art Immersive Holographic Entertainment Center, offering cutting-edge experiences in VR, AR, and holography, and the Gokul Supermarket for everyday shopping needs.

Over 100 retail shops have been allocated to local businesses, which will significantly boost footfall and local commerce. A key highlight is the allotment of the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) on the second floor, which will provide advanced training in electronics, data analytics, and IT, empowering youth with digital skills. The third floor is being equipped with immersive tech at a cost of ₹5.33 crore, while the top floors are home to Miraj Cinemas, establishing the complex as an entertainment hotspot.

The complex is designed in four wings with designated areas tailored to the public’s needs—from shopping and dining to administration and training. The ground floor features the ASP office, Gokul Supermarket, and retail outlets. This centralized setup reflects the smart city ideal—making shopping, education, entertainment, and public services accessible in one location.

More than a retail destination, the CBD is fast becoming a catalyst for economic growth, employment, tourism, cultural exchange, and tech-driven startups in Nava Raipur. With key state administrative buildings, including the CM’s residence, ministries, secretariat, and the upcoming assembly complex in the vicinity, the area is strategically placed for the city’s future.

Since the completion of construction in 2018, the current administration has accelerated the activation of various zones within the complex in 2025. Allotments for remaining built-up areas are also in progress, marking the CBD as a cornerstone of Nava Raipur’s transformation into a future-ready smart city.
