Collector and SP Hold Joint Meeting on ‘Trinetra’ Surveillance Project
Rajnandgaon : Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and Superintendent of Police Mr. Mohit Garg held a joint meeting today at the Collector’s office to review the progress and implementation of the Trinetra Scheme — a unique and pioneering surveillance initiative aimed at enhancing city security through public participation.
Described as the first of its kind in the country, the Trinetra Scheme aims to curb thefts, crimes, and other illegal activities through the installation of CCTV cameras across the city with active community involvement. Representatives from various sectors including local leaders, Chamber of Commerce members, community organizations, trader associations, and social workers are contributing to this effort.
During the meeting, the Collector and the SP urged rice mill owners, schools and colleges, industrialists, hospitals, builders, hoteliers, bankers, and general citizens to support and actively participate in the Trinetra initiative. Dr. Bhure announced that the first phase of the project, which includes integrating CCTV cameras and servers, will be operational by July 1. He invited interested organizations to visit the control room to verify the quality of the equipment being used.
Significantly, citizens have contributed around ₹1.25 crore towards the project. So far, nearly 70,000 meters of armored optical fiber cable and poles have been installed across the city. Installation of safety boxes and cameras is currently underway in the initial phase.
The Trinetra Scheme represents a powerful tool for monitoring criminal elements and antisocial behavior. It leverages community engagement for improved policing and public safety.
Also present at the meeting were Additional SP Mr. Rahul Dev Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, members of the police cyber team including Mr. Abhishek Sahu and Mr. Dwarika Prasad, Trinetra Scheme Treasurer Mr. Ashok Modi, technician Mr. Srishtipal Singh Bhatia, and other officials.
