Chief Minister releases the book ‘Sonani Hatadi’, the proud kingdom of Patidars, at Vishwa Umiyadham

Key Messages from the Chief Minister:

  • The freedom struggle began with non-cooperation; today’s era is one of prosperity through cooperation.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already launched campaigns to tackle future challenges.
  • Cleanliness must become a way of life, keeping both national development and cultural heritage alive.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel unveiled the book “Sonani Hatdi”, celebrating the proud royal legacy of the Patidar community at Vishva Umiya Dham in Ahmedabad. The book documents around 750 years of lineage of the royal Darbars of Patdi and the Desai families.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized the strength of unity. “When people work in unison, even the most significant tasks become manageable,” he said, noting that collective strength always outweighs individual power.

He remarked that India’s independence movement started with non-cooperation, but the present is defined by cooperation and shared prosperity. Societies that work together with empathy, mutual trust, and collaboration are those that continue to grow and flourish.

CM Patel praised Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, under which Gujarat has progressed in every sector. The Prime Minister, he said, has prioritized not only cleanliness but also innovation in areas like semiconductors and green energy.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s “Nine Resolutions”, he said these initiatives aim to address future challenges proactively. Campaigns such as “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree in Mother’s Name) and “Catch the Rain” promote environmental consciousness and water conservation, essential for safeguarding the legacy and well-being of future generations.

The Chief Minister called on all citizens to unite in realizing the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ (Developed India by 2047) vision and fulfill their responsibilities toward the state and nation’s growth.

Mr. R.P. Patel, President of Vishva Umiya Foundation, shared that during the freedom movement, Patdi was home to the only princely state of the Kadva Patidar community. Today, members of the community are contributing to industries ranging from agriculture to aerospace, even building helicopters. He described temples as centers of spiritual strength and expressed gratitude to the central and state governments for their continuous support in developing Vishva Umiya Dham.

On this occasion, Patidar community members who compiled the 750-year historical record of the Patdi royal Darbars and Desai families were honored by the Chief Minister.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Patdi Darbar Shri Karnisingh Desai, MLA Shri Jitubhai Bhagat, Dr. Mafatlal Patel (Trustee, Achala Education Foundation), Mr. D.P. Desai (Chairman, Audana), Mr. N.K. Patel (Sun Builders), Dr. Rajesh Desai, Dr. Pratap Desai, and numerous Patidar community leaders.
