Thanksgiving Rally Held in Mangalore for Implementation of Uniform Civil Code

A grand thanksgiving rally was held in the Mangalore Assembly constituency to mark the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the event, which witnessed a massive turnout of people. Demonstrating a personal connection with the public, the CM arrived at the venue by driving a tractor himself. The gathering was further marked by flower showers from a helicopter, celebrating the momentous occasion.

The rally began at Chaudhary Ompal Dhaba in Libbarhedi and concluded at Sweety Farm, Libbarhedi. Upon arrival at the Maharaja Mahendra Pratap Degree College sports ground in Narasan, the Chief Minister was welcomed by District Magistrate Mayur Dikshit.

In his address, CM Dhami said that with the implementation of the UCC, the long-cherished dream of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, has been realized. Uttarakhand has become the first state in India to implement the UCC, bringing uniform laws across all communities and religions.

He thanked the people of Mangalore for the rally, emphasizing that the event was not just a tribute to him but an expression of respect for the 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand. He extended gratitude to women, senior citizens, youth, and public representatives who braved the scorching heat to attend.

Highlighting the Modi government’s achievements for farmers, he noted major initiatives like the PM-Kisan scheme, increased credit limits under Kisan Credit Cards, crop insurance, and 80% subsidy on horticulture. He also mentioned new policies for apples, kiwis, and dragon fruit, and bonuses on wheat and sugarcane procurement.

On corruption, the CM assured strict action, stating that those involved in scams, including IAS and PCS officers in the Haridwar land scam, will not be spared.

During the event, CM Dhami announced the construction of a sports stadium in Libbarhedi village named after Maharaja Surajmal and the paving of the Sirki Rajwaha canal path from Mangalore to Gurukul and Landaura Bypass (Harchandpur).

The event was attended by MLA Pradeep Batra, former MLA Swami Yatishwaranand, BJP District President Dr. Madhu Singh, event coordinator and former minister Kartar Singh Bhadana, along with several senior officials and local representatives.
