Paved Road from Junwani to Chikhlitola Approved — A Lifeline for Remote Villages

Raipur : Travel is about to become significantly easier for the residents of Junwani and Chikhlitola villages in the forested Dondi region of Balod district. What was once a rough and stony path will soon be replaced by a proper paved road, thanks to the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. The villagers, who had long struggled with poor road access, are now celebrating this major development.

Until now, the 3-kilometer stretch between Junwani and Chikhlitola forced residents to take a detour of nearly 30 kilometers through hilly terrain, leading to a waste of time, energy, and resources. This road, which posed a significant challenge, especially during the rainy season, will finally see long-awaited improvement.

During the Su-Shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), CM Vishnu Deo Sai approved ₹11.47 crore for the construction of this paved road. This not only signals the start of construction but also marks the beginning of a new phase of development for the region. Former Janpad Panchayat member Sanjay Bais said the new road will accelerate regional growth and represents a major step toward development. Local resident Harishchandra Nayak shared that the road, originally built through community labor, will now be formally paved — fulfilling a longstanding demand.

With the new road, the three-kilometer journey that once consumed both time and money will now be quick and convenient. Villagers will gain easy access to markets, farmers can reach their fields without hassle, and overall connectivity will improve dramatically. This infrastructural upgrade is expected to transform the quality of life for the locals.

Importantly, this road is not just a link between two villages — it is a vital artery that will contribute to the holistic development of the entire region. Better access to education, healthcare, and trade will become possible, enhancing opportunities for all.
