Restructuring of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department for Farmers’ Welfare: Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil.
Mumbai, July 9: A proposal for the restructuring of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department, prioritizing the welfare of farmers, should be submitted to the government. While restructuring these departments, it should be ensured that no injustice is done to any government officers or employees and that they are provided with opportunities for regular promotions, as advised by Revenue, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Development Minister Dr. Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil in a review meeting held at the ministry today.
Present at the meeting were MLA Rahul Kul, MLA Jaykumar Gore, MLA Manisha Kayande, MLA Manjula Gavit, Additional Secretary of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department Rajesh Kumar, along with key office bearers from the Maharashtra Gazetted Veterinary Association, Maharashtra Veterinary Association, Animal Husbandry Employees Association, Private Veterinary Association, and Student Association.
A decision regarding the restructuring of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department was made during the cabinet meeting held on March 13, 2024. Minister Vikhe-Patil expressed that it is essential to make changes to the current policy based on population and to improve the infrastructure. He also instructed that no flaws should remain in the restructuring process. Detailed discussions were held on the restructuring of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Departments during the meeting. Additionally, Minister Vikhe-Patil and the office bearers of various associations discussed various issues such as the revised organizational structure of both departments, new positions, and service seniority.
