Rajasthan Government Emphasizes Stronger Engagement with Diaspora; ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Dialogue Programme’ Held in Guwahati
Jaipur – With an aim to ensure greater participation of non-resident Rajasthanis in the state’s socio-economic development, the Government of Rajasthan is actively promoting continuous dialogue and cooperation with members of the diaspora living across India and abroad. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, several significant initiatives are being taken in this direction.
As part of these efforts, the newly established Assam (Guwahati) Chapter of the Rajasthan Foundation organized the Pravasi Rajasthani Dialogue Programme in Guwahati on Friday.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of non-resident Rajasthanis, including members of Laghu Udyog Bharati with Rajasthani roots, who shared their emotional and cultural connections with the state. Shri Ratan Sharma, newly appointed President of the Rajasthan Foundation Assam (Guwahati) Chapter, expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and pledged to unite the diaspora in the Northeast through the Chapter. He assured increased involvement of the northeastern diaspora in Rajasthan’s economic and social progress.
On the occasion, Dr. Manisha Arora, Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation, highlighted the innovative schemes and initiatives launched by the government for the welfare of non-resident Rajasthanis. She shared details about several key announcements made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, including the establishment of a dedicated department for the diaspora, the celebration of Pravasi Rajasthani Day on December 10, 2025 in Jaipur, the launch of the Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Awards, and the appointment of nodal officers in every district to address diaspora-related issues.
Dr. Arora also elaborated on the features of the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024 (RIPS 2024) and various public participation schemes across departments, encouraging the diaspora to contribute philanthropically to their native villages and districts as Bhamashahs (benevolent donors).
Several members of the non-resident Rajasthani community shared their experiences at the event and expressed keen interest in participating in Rajasthan’s development journey.
