Galta Ji Temple Complex Transformed Through District Administration’s Efforts: Parliamentary Affairs Minister
Jaipur : The iconic Galta Ji temple complex, a revered site of faith for the public, has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to the initiatives taken by the Jaipur district administration. Devotee facilities have been significantly enhanced, and due to extensive cleanliness efforts, renovations, and beautification works, the site now exudes a renewed spiritual and aesthetic charm. These improvements have visibly reshaped the sacred destination, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Jaipur District In-Charge Minister, Shri Jogaram Patel.
On Tuesday, Shri Jogaram Patel visited the Galta Ji temple to inspect the ongoing development works. He offered prayers at the shrine, seeking peace, prosperity, and happiness for the state. As part of the ‘Vande Ganga Jal Conservation Campaign,’ he also participated in manual labor (shramdaan) at the sacred Rishi Galav Kund, performed Ganga Puja and took part in the Ganga Aarti ceremony. During the event, he planted a sapling under the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign and extended his best wishes for the success of the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ (Green Rajasthan) initiative. Mayor of Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Kusum Yadav, was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the public at the event, Shri Patel stated that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has launched the ‘Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan’ to promote water conservation and harvesting across Rajasthan. He said the state government is fully committed to making Rajasthan water self-reliant, and this campaign will stand as a historic and transformative initiative.
Following the event, Shri Patel held a review meeting with departmental officials at the RTDC Guest House. District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni presented the progress of development work at Galta Ji. Shri Patel commended the district administration’s efforts. Also in attendance were Greater Jaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mrs. Rukmani Riyar, Heritage Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Arun Kumar Hasija, and Zila Parishad CEO Mrs. Pratibha Verma, along with other senior officials who shared updates on their respective departments.
Shri Patel directed officials to complete all necessary preparations ahead of the upcoming monsoon season, especially in areas prone to waterlogging. He emphasized timely cleaning of drains and maintenance of water bodies under the Vande Ganga campaign. He also inspected the Gaushala (cow shelter) within the temple premises and fed green fodder to the cows.
After the meeting, Shri Patel also visited Amagarh Sanctuary and Jagga ki Baori (stepwell) to assess the water conservation development activities carried out under the campaign. During the visit, he tied water bowls on trees for birds and discussed the potential for eco-tourism and wildlife tourism with officials.
