Save Water for Future Generations: Parliamentary Affairs Minister

Jaipur : A district-level program of the ‘Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan’ was organized on Wednesday at village Ramnagar Dhatoori, under Gram Panchayat Bharthala in Niwai sub-division of Tonk district.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel, who was the chief guest, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the goal of this campaign is to make Rajasthan green and water-rich. He called upon the public to save water for the future of the coming generations.

The minister emphasized that this water conservation campaign is an effort to revive ancient water structures, which have historically been the soul of our community life and heritage. He said that today, there is a need to protect traditional water sources like stepwells, wells, and ponds. He encouraged everyone to plant trees and take responsibility for their care. The Cabinet Minister also administered a pledge for water conservation to all present.


Progress Under CM Sharma and National Achievements Under PM Modi

Niwai–Peeplu MLA Shri Ramsahay Verma highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, over the past 11 years, advanced India’s economy to the fourth position globally. He further said that under CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership, Rajasthan is witnessing new dimensions of development. He also shared details about the development projects undertaken in the Niwai assembly constituency in the past 18 months.


Environmental Appeal by District Chief

Tonk District Chief Saroj Bansal remarked that plastic use harms our environment. She urged everyone to protect the five natural elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) from pollution and degradation.

District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni and several public representatives were also present at the event.


Kalash Yatra, Plantation, and Prayers for Rain

On this occasion, local women led a Kalash Yatra (sacred water pot procession) and a water conservation awareness rally from the event venue to the Integrated Grazing Land Development site.

All the dignitaries performed ritual worship of Jal Devta (Water Deity) and a Peepal sapling, praying for abundant rainfall in the district. Following the rituals, they planted the Peepal tree, symbolizing a message of environmental preservation.
