CM Dr. Yadav to interact with cattle rearers, gaushala operators of state

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will interact with the state’s cattle-rearers and gaushala (cow shelter) operators on June 20 at the Chief Minister’s residence. Along with this, he will transfer approximately Rs 90 crore to gaushalas. The Gaushala Conference will be held at the Chief Minister’s residence from 12 noon. On this occasion, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Mr. Lakhan Patel, will also be present. Government and non-government gaushala operators and representatives from all districts of the state will participate in the conference.

Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Mr. Umakant Umrao, informed that the state government has increased the financial grant for proper management of cattle in registered gaushalas in the state from Rs 20 per cattle per day to Rs 40 per cattle per day. Accordingly, the grant installment of approximately Rs 90 crore for the months of April and May 2025 will be released at the conference.

In the conference, awards will be given under the Acharya Vidyasagar Jeev Daya Gau-Seva Samman Yojana to the selected gaushalas and institutions. First prize of Rs 5 lakh, second prize of Rs 3 lakh, third prize of Rs 2 lakh and consolation prizes of Rs 50,000 each will be given. For excellent work in the field of cow service, in the individual category, first prize of Rs 1 lakh, second prize of Rs 50,000, and third prize of Rs 20,000 will be given.

To promote milk production in the state, the Kamdhenu Scheme has been started, under which schemes from 25 milch animals up to 200 milch animals will be approved for dairy business. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will also distribute sanction letters to the beneficiaries of this scheme. Registration certificates will be distributed to new gaushalas, and with the cooperation of the Madhya Pradesh Gau-Sanvardhan Board and Dayodaya Mahasangh, tractors and trolleys will be distributed to beneficiaries. A short film on the topic “Rising Steps of the State in the Field of Animal Husbandry” will also be screened at the conference.
