‘Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’ Brings Government Schemes to Remote Forest Regions
Ayushman Card Brings New Hope of Health Security to Durga Bai Baiga’s Family
Raipur : The government’s flagship initiative, ‘Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan,’ has illuminated the lives of tribal communities in remote forested areas, particularly among the Baiga tribes, offering them new rays of hope and access to critical welfare schemes. Government services and benefits are now reaching the farthest corners of the state with unprecedented ease.
A special camp organized in Mahamai village under Lormi development block of Mungeli district has transformed the lives of many, including that of Durga Bai Baiga and her family. Until recently, Durga Bai had been worried about accessing healthcare for her family. But now, under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, her family is entitled to free medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh annually.
At the camp, Ayushman health cards were instantly issued to Durga Bai, her husband, and their three children – Kuldeep, Rajmati, and Rammati. These cards now ensure their eligibility for free treatment at empanelled hospitals.
An emotional Durga Bai shared, “Earlier, we were constantly worried about how to afford treatment because we didn’t have an Ayushman card. Now, we can access free medical services, and that has lifted a big burden from our lives.” She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, saying this was the first time government schemes were reaching her doorstep without any hassle.
As part of the ongoing campaign across Baiga-dominated villages, multiple welfare camps are being held, offering a range of essential services such as ration cards, Aadhaar enrollment, social security pensions, health scheme registrations, and more.
Under the guidance of the district collector, the administration is working with a people-first approach to ensure that the benefits of governance truly reach every individual. The ‘Jan Seva Aapke Dwaar’ (Public Service at Your Doorstep) spirit is driving this mission, helping the government bring inclusive development to even the most marginalized communities.
