Minister of State for Energy Meghana Sakore-Bordikar Assures Positive Action on ‘Line Staff’ Workers’ Issues
Mumbai : Line staff employees in the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (Mahavitaran) play a crucial role in maintaining essential services, and their long-pending demands will be addressed positively and resolved at the earliest, assured Minister of State for Energy Meghana Sakore-Bordikar.
During a meeting held at the Energy Department’s office at Fort, various issues concerning line staff employees were discussed. Present at the meeting were Mahavitaran Director Pradeep Bhagwat, senior officials, and representatives from employee unions.
Minister Sakore-Bordikar acknowledged that due to the nature of their work, line staff face significant risks to their lives, especially while operating in hazardous conditions. She emphasized the need for enhanced safety measures and announced that line staff would soon be provided with modern safety equipment, including advanced protective gear, safety shoes, raincoats, and technology-based safety tools to minimize risks.
She further assured that demands such as separate designation and grade pay scales for technical posts, as well as salary increments, would be considered positively. The government, she said, recognizes the critical role of line staff and is committed to improving their working conditions and ensuring their safety.
