Warning of High Tides for Konkan Coast; Orange Alert Issued for Pune Ghat Region for Next 24 Hours
Mumbai : The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a high wave warning along the Konkan coast. Fishermen and small boats have been advised not to venture into the sea. Meanwhile, based on forecasts by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an Orange Alert has been issued for the Pune Ghat region for the next 24 hours, as per the State Emergency Operations Centre.
In the last 24 hours (till the morning of June 20, 2025), Ratnagiri district recorded the highest rainfall at 41.7 mm, followed by Thane and Palghar districts with 41.6 mm each, Raigad with 40.1 mm, and Mumbai Suburban with 31.7 mm.

In Nashik district, two people drowned in water. In Mumbai Suburban, two people were injured in a wall collapse. In Jalna, a lightning strike caused the death of one animal.
According to the State Emergency Centre, the Jagbudi River in Ratnagiri is currently at warning level. Due to heavy rainfall in the Pune division, water is being discharged as follows:
- Khadakwasla Dam to Mutha River: 15,092 cusecs
- Bund Garden Barrage, Pune: 24,416 cusecs
- Bhima River at Daund Bridge: 10,833 cusecs
- Ghod River from Ghod Dam: 4,000 cusecs
- Kanher Dam, Satara: 500 cusecs
- Venna River: 1,000 cusecs
Villages near riverbanks have been put on alert.
In Nashik district, 22,345 cusecs are being discharged from the Nandur Madhmeshwar Dam into the Godavari River and 289 cusecs from the Sina Dam into the Sina River.
Due to heavy rainfall in Ratnagiri, floods have affected transportation in Khed and Dapoli municipal areas. Roads were temporarily shut due to water over bridges in Borghar-Wave Tarfe Natu Chinchavali and Vanoshi Anganwadi-Panhale Phansur areas. These roads have since reopened. Similarly, water over a bridge on Chinchghar-Koregaon Bhairavi road caused a temporary shutdown, but traffic has resumed.
A landslide at Sonpatra curve on National Highway 166 (Guhagar-Chiplun-Vijapur) caused a brief traffic block, which was later cleared. Heavy rainfall in Chiplun and Dapoli also led to fallen trees and wall collapses, causing damage to private property, the State Emergency Centre reported.
