CM Devendra Fadnavis Offers Prayers to the Sacred Padukas of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj
Pune – On the occasion of the Ashadhi Palakhi procession, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Palakhi Vitthal Temple in Bhavani Peth on Friday (June 20) and offered prayers to the sacred padukas (footwear) of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. He also performed the ritual worship of the palanquin inside the temple.
The temple committee felicitated Chief Minister Fadnavis during the visit. Also present on the occasion were Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Yogi Niranjannath (chief trustee of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sanstha), Guru Shantinath, Rajendra Umap, Bhavarth Dekhne, Purushottam Patil, Tejendra Kondhare (President of the Palakhi Vitthal Temple Trust), trustees Pramod Bengrut, Shivajirao Jagdale, Gorakh Bhikule, and several other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the Warkaris (devotees) undertaking the spiritual journey to Pandharpur as part of the Ashadhi pilgrimage. Earlier, in a deeply devotional atmosphere filled with chants of “Vitthal Vitthal” and slogans hailing Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram, the palanquin of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj arrived at the Vitthal Temple to the rhythmic beat of taal and mridang. A large number of Warkaris and devotees gathered in and around the temple to witness the auspicious event.
