Iran Condemns U.S. Airstrikes on Nuclear Facilities as Violation of International Law
Tehran vows to continue its nuclear development, calling American attacks a conspiracy to derail Iran’s national industry
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has denounced the recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, calling the action a clear violation of international law. The condemnation follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that American forces struck three major Iranian nuclear sites — Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan — in a coordinated attack early Sunday morning (Indian time).

Although Iran did not reveal the extent of the damage, the Atomic Energy Organization emphasized that the country would not halt its nuclear program, which it referred to as a “national industry.” The statement reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to continuing its nuclear development despite external pressure.
“Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization assures the Iranian people that, despite the conspiracies of its enemies, and through the efforts of its thousands of committed revolutionaries, scientists, and experts, it will never cease the development of this national industry,” the agency stated. It also honored the sacrifices made by Iranian nuclear scientists who had “given their lives” for the program.
Meanwhile, President Trump took to his social media platform ‘Truth’ to declare the airstrikes a success. “We have completed our very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran—Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now out of Iran’s airspace. Congratulations to our great American warriors. There is no other army in the world that could have done this. Now is the time for peace,” Trump wrote.
Calling the moment a “historic opportunity” for the U.S., Israel, and the broader international community, Trump urged Iran to de-escalate the situation. He reiterated his earlier offer, made on Friday, giving Iran a two-week window to come to the negotiating table on its nuclear program.
The attack follows rising tensions after Israel launched its own airstrikes on Iranian targets on June 13, killing dozens of Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on Israeli infrastructure, sparking fears of a broader regional conflict.
With both sides refusing to back down, the crisis in the Middle East remains volatile and uncertain.
