Union Home Minister Amit Shah Performs Bhoomi Pujan for NFSU and NFSL in Nava Raipur
Raipur : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today performed the Bhoomi Pujan (foundation-laying ceremony) for the buildings of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL) in Banjarin village, Nava Raipur. Both institutions will be established on a 40-acre campus with state-of-the-art facilities.
An initial funding of ₹130 crore each has been sanctioned for the construction of these institutions. The event was attended by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, and Forest & Environment Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap.
NFSL will be one of the most high-tech forensic laboratories in the country. Its establishment will significantly enhance the capabilities of scientific investigation in Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, NFSU is the country’s premier institute for the study of forensic science, offering specialized programs in forensic science, criminal investigation, and criminology. In 2020, NFSU was granted the status of an Institute of National Importance.
With the arrival of NFSU and NFSL in Chhattisgarh, students and professionals will have access to high-quality education and training in niche fields such as forensic science, criminology, investigative research, and forensic psychology.
Present on the occasion were MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, former Maharashtra Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, MLAs Shri Kiran Dev, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Shri Arun Deo Gautam, senior officers of the Home Department, and several local public representatives.
