Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Hands Over Appointment Orders to 50 Candidates Selected for Posts in the Department of Industries and Commerce

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, today (23.06.2025) handed over appointment orders to 50 candidates selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for the posts of Assistant Director, Lecturer, and Junior Technical Lecturer in the Department of Industries and Commerce under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Speaking at the Chief Secretariat, the Hon’ble Chief Minister noted that MSMEs play a crucial role in generating employment through minimal investment and provide livelihood to thousands. They contribute significantly to the state’s social and economic development, as well as to domestic production and growth.

The Industries and Commerce Department has been actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship and skill development. Through various schemes such as the Kalaignar Skill Development Scheme, Online Ambedkar Entrepreneur Development Programme, New Entrepreneur-Cum-Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS), and special schemes for differently-abled entrepreneurs, the department supports self-employment and industrial development across Tamil Nadu.

Recognizing the importance of this department, vacancies arising from time to time are being filled without delay. As part of this initiative, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has selected 19 Assistant Directors, 22 Lecturers, and 9 Junior Technical Lecturers — a total of 50 candidates — for whom the appointment orders were distributed today by the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Since this government assumed office in 2021, under the MSME Department, appointment orders have been issued for:

• 1 Assistant Director (Monitoring)
• 11 Assistant Directors
• 18 Assistant Engineers
• 47 Lecturers
• 34 Assistant Lecturers
• 41 Lecturers (Technical)
• 25 Junior Technical Lecturers

— totaling 177 appointments made so far.
