Bridges and Roads to Be Built in Surajpur Following Minister Lakshmi Rajwade’s Initiative; ₹48.72 Crore Sanctioned
Raipur : The Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh is set to witness a new chapter in infrastructure development. Thanks to the continuous efforts of Women and Child Development Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, a total of ₹48.72 crore has been sanctioned by the Public Works Department for the financial year 2024–25. This funding will be used for the construction of key roads and bridges in the district, significantly improving regional connectivity and accelerating economic growth.
Key Approved Projects Include:
- Construction of a 5-km access road from NH-43 to the new Krishna Temple on Silphili-Banaras Road, at a cost of ₹690.68 lakh.
- A 4-km access road from NH-43 via Mayapara Durgabari to Ravindra Nagar (Nawapara), with an estimated cost of ₹448.95 lakh.
- A bridge over the Gobari River between Biramtal and Umeshpur at a cost of ₹307.19 lakh.
- Widening of the Pakni–Chendra road at a cost of ₹761 lakh.
- Construction of roads and small bridges over 6.10 km from Kuppa Jamgharpada to Chowkidar Para, Nawapara, and Girhoolpara, at ₹593 lakh.
- Bridge over Kagaj Nala on the Haripur–Chatraang access road, costing ₹419 lakh.
- High-level bridge and approach road over the Gobari River on the Sirsi–Kusmusi route, with an allocation of ₹510 lakh.
- High-level bridge and approach road over the Mahan River on the Lanjit–Sauhar route at a cost of ₹741 lakh.
- WBM and blacktopping of the 4.10-km Sundarpur–Shaunki–Nevtali–Salka road, costing ₹403 lakh.
Expressing her happiness over the approval of these projects, Minister Rajwade stated that the completion of these infrastructure works will greatly improve road connectivity in Surajpur’s rural areas and provide better transportation facilities to the local population. She emphasized that these projects will also strengthen economic activities related to trade and agriculture.
She further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is committed to translating every developmental promise into reality. The government’s dedication to integrating rural areas into the mainstream is clearly evident.
Construction on these projects will begin soon, creating employment opportunities for local residents and giving a fresh boost to regional development.
