Inauguration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight — CM Bhajanlal Sharma Pledges to Take Development to the Last Person

Jaipur | Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight on Tuesday in Bichoon village, Dudu tehsil, Jaipur district. Emphasizing the philosophy of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person), the CM said that empowering the poor, farmers, laborers, and rural citizens is crucial for the country’s development. Through this fortnight-long campaign, the state government aims to deliver welfare schemes to the most marginalized sections of society.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sharma called on all citizens to actively participate in the campaign, visit the camps, resolve their pending issues, and motivate others to do the same. He recalled the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, who dreamed of an India where every village and citizen becomes self-reliant.

Camps to Deliver Government Services to the Needy

The CM stated that the fortnight would help resolve long-pending issues of the poor and deprived, enabling them to benefit from government schemes. Camps will address land-related disputes, facilitate mutual settlements, and survey 10,000 villages under the Deendayal Gram Poverty-Free Scheme to link Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with government benefits. Land ownership documents (Swamitva Pattas) will also be issued to ensure legal rights for rural families.

He added that cleaning of water tanks, pending water connections, repair of leakages, and canal maintenance would also be taken up to improve drinking water and irrigation services. Activities like distribution of plants, collection of soil samples, and soil health card issuance will aid scientific farming. In the livestock sector, camps will provide animal insurance, health checkups, and vaccinations for cattle, ensuring financial security for farmers.

Public health initiatives will include Ayushman Card distribution, resolution of pending NFSA ration card cases, and enrollment drives in schools. The repair of sagging electric wires and poles will also be prioritized to improve basic amenities in rural areas.

Rapid Development Under PM Modi’s Vision

CM Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the transformative progress since 2014. He reiterated PM Modi’s belief that India’s development hinges on uplifting four key sections — the poor, youth, women, and farmers. Inspired by the PM’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Rajasthan has set a target to plant 10 crore trees this year.

Turning Around a Lagging State

Taking a dig at the previous government, CM Sharma said Rajasthan had lagged in development but his government has worked relentlessly to change that. His administration aims to make the state surplus in power production, having already achieved record peak power supply of 18,509 MW without disruptions and ensuring uninterrupted power to farmers during the Rabi season — all without borrowing electricity.

Over the last 18 months, the government has disbursed ₹35,000 crore in loans through cooperative banks, compared to ₹15,000 crore by the previous government. The state also procured 30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat at MSP, far more than the 11 metric tonnes purchased earlier. Additionally, 12,000 km of new roads have been built, connecting over 1,300 villages, a massive leap compared to 3,400 km under the former administration.

“Rajasthan is back on the fast track of development,” CM Sharma declared, “and our goal is not only to make Rajasthan a leading state in India, but also to ensure every citizen lives a prosperous and empowered life.”

Deputy CM and Mass Outreach

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa praised the state government for ensuring inclusive access to welfare schemes. He said the ‘Double Engine’ government is committed to fulfilling the vision of a developed Rajasthan, ensuring that even the most remote individuals become part of the mainstream through the camps.

CM Interacts with Citizens Over Tea

On his way back to Jaipur, CM Sharma halted his convoy to enjoy tea amid light showers, engaging warmly with locals and inquiring about their well-being. He was greeted enthusiastically with flower garlands at several spots along the route.

The event saw the presence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel, Jaipur Zila Pramukh Smt. Rama Chopra, various public representatives, officials, and a large number of citizens.
