Establish CITRIPLET Centers in Every District – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Directs
MIDC to Provide Land; 15% Funding Through District Planning Committee
Mumbai : To ensure employment-oriented and technology-driven training for youth across Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed that a Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training (CITRIPLET) be set up in every district of the state. He instructed that necessary land be allocated through MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) and 15% of the required funding be provided via the District Planning Committee.
Currently, 10 CITRIPLET centers have been approved in the state. Pawar emphasized that work should be initiated immediately to establish such centers in the remaining 26 districts as well.
A review meeting was held at the Deputy CM’s Committee Room at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Ajit Pawar to assess progress on CITRIPLET center development. The meeting was attended by Industries Minister Uday Samant, MP Sunil Tatkare, Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning Department and Development Commissioner Dr. Rajgopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance O.P. Gupta, and several senior officials from various departments, including Skill Development and MIDC.
Ajit Pawar stated that world-class training must be accessible to the youth, enabling them to become skilled and employable, and that no compromises should be made in this endeavor. He stressed that every district must have at least one CITRIPLET center. Immediate coordination should be done with Tata Group to facilitate the rollout of these centers across all districts.
The centers will provide training in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automation, Robotics, and Machine Learning, benefiting thousands of youth annually. These centers will also ensure trained manpower for industries, encourage entrepreneurship, and create industry-friendly environments across districts.
Pawar further instructed that MIDC should ensure the land allocated is close to urban areas and easily accessible for trainees. The 15% funding requirement will be met via District Planning Committees, and responding to MP Sunil Tatkare’s request, he assured that MIDC will provide funding for the Raigad district’s CITRIPLET center.
