Arrival of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi in Satara District Amid Devotional Fervour

Satara : The revered palkhi (palanquin procession) of Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Mauli entered Padegaon in Satara district today, amidst a deeply devotional and joyous atmosphere filled with the rhythmic beats of cymbals and mridangas, and fervent chants of Hari Naam. The fluttering saffron flags, resonant devotional music, and blissful singing of bhajans created a spiritual ambience that drenched the entire region in devotion as the palkhi procession made its way forward.

Upon its arrival in Satara district, the palkhi was received with reverence by Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Jaykumar Gore, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makrand Patil, MP Shriman Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale, MP Nitin Patil, MLA Sachin Patil, MLA Manoj Ghorpade, former MP Ranjitsinh Naik-Nimbalkar, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulakundwar, District Collector Santosh Patil, Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi, and Wai Sub-Divisional Officer Rajendra Kachare, who offered floral tributes. The police band played various tunes in tribute to the saint.

After a ceremonial bath in the Neera River, the palkhi arrived at Padegaon, where dignitaries and lakhs of devotees received darshan of Sant Dnyaneshwar Mauli. A massive crowd of devotees had gathered for a glimpse of the saint’s palkhi.

In connection with the 2025 Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Procession, a QR code (https://smartpanchayat.in/palakhi/) was innovatively created for the first time by the Khandala and Phaltan Panchayat Samitis to assist warkaris (devotees on pilgrimage). This initiative provides essential facilities in designated villages, such as access to toilets, healthcare, drinking water, women’s bathing facilities, night halts, lodging, petrol stations, and emergency contacts. The warkaris expressed satisfaction and gratitude for these efforts.

The district administration has made arrangements for drinking water tankers and medical services at various locations. In addition, sanitation facilities have been set up at several points. To ensure the safety and security of all warkaris, a robust police deployment has also been put in place.
