Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Congratulates Assembly Speaker Devanani

Opposition Leader Tikaram Julie, Ministers and Lawmakers Extend Greetings on Devanani’s France-Germany Visit and Golden Wedding Anniversary

Jaipur – Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with Leader of Opposition Shri Tikaram Julie, state ministers, MLAs, MPs, senior administrative officials, and media representatives, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devanani on the successful completion of his study tour to France and Germany, as well as on the occasion of his 50th wedding anniversary.

Cooperation Minister Gautam Dak and Leader of Opposition Julie personally visited the Legislative Assembly to greet Devanani and presented him with a bouquet. In addition, representatives of various social organizations and officers from the Assembly Secretariat also congratulated him.

Speaker’s France-Germany Visit: Enlightening and Productive

Speaker Shri Vasudev Devanani, speaking about his June 17–25 study tour organized under the aegis of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, described it as meaningful, beneficial, and enriching. He said the purpose of his visit was to study the parliamentary systems, processes, traditions, and local cultures of both countries.

Sharing his experiences, Devanani noted that both France and Germany expressed positive sentiments about India’s progress and innovation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He said both countries showed alignment with India’s stance on counter-terrorism and expressed a willingness to collaborate on global security concerns.

Devanani explained that France and Germany, like India, have bicameral parliaments with Lower and Upper Houses. However, their electoral systems differ. In France, Upper House members are selected based on vote percentage, whereas in Germany, local mayors and councils administer governance, with no separate state structures.

He also observed a deep commitment to yoga in European countries, especially Germany, where International Yoga Day is celebrated with enthusiasm. Yoga is increasingly seen as a holistic health practice, and he noted that most German citizens prefer cycling, indicating high awareness of fitness and well-being.

Meetings and Cultural Engagements

During the tour, Speaker Devanani visited National Assemblies and other parliamentary institutions, met with parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and members of the Indian diaspora, and also attended events at Indian embassies. He held meaningful discussions with members of the Rajasthani diaspora on a range of topics, and received appreciation for the innovations introduced in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

The diaspora urged the Indian government to start direct international flights from various Indian cities to France and Germany to avoid multiple layovers. They also emphasized the need for French and German language courses in Indian educational institutions to enhance job opportunities for Indian youth seeking employment in these countries.

Devanani expressed confidence that his tour would contribute positively to the ‘Rajasthan-2047: Towards Global Leadership’ vision, benefiting youth, policymakers, and civil society.

He also mentioned that the diaspora is enthusiastic about India’s Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, and stressed the importance of implementing the signed MoUs on the ground.

Celebrating Indian Culture Abroad

Devanani was pleased to observe that Indian festivals and traditions are being actively celebrated by the diaspora in both France and Germany. He added that there is strong interest in collaborative work with India across various fields including education, technology, artificial intelligence, and nuclear energy development.
