Minister Rodingliana Inaugurates Expansion and OPD Building at Ngopa Community Health Centre

Minister of State Pu F. Rodingliana, along with Lengteng MLA, officially inaugurated the newly expanded facilities at Ngopa Community Health Centre (CHC). The expansion includes a fully equipped Outpatient Department (OPD) building and related amenities to enhance patient care.

During the ceremony, Minister Rodingliana was joined by Dr. Lalngura Tlau, Saitual District Medical Officer, Dr. R. Lalnienga, Champhai Chief Medical Officer, and other senior health officials. They reviewed the improvements and heard detailed reports from Ngopa CHC Medical Officer Dr. Lalrintluangi on the completed works. Dr. Lalrintluangi highlighted the new OPD block, the upgraded casualty ward, and other essential services now operational.

Minister Rodingliana announced plans to train local geologists in advanced surveying techniques and requested funding support from NHIDCL, PWD, and the NHM Technical Wing for additional infrastructure and staffing needs. He praised the Ngopa CHC building’s robust construction and confirmed that further allocations have been approved to complete pending works.

Looking ahead, the Minister revealed that approximately 50 guest rooms will be constructed for visiting medical specialists and health administrators, ensuring comfortable on‑site accommodation for program staff.

Earlier today, Dr. Lalngura Tlau and Dr. R. Lalnienga commended NHIDCL’s role in road improvements connecting Ngopa, which has facilitated better patient access. In addition, Minister Rodingliana visited the Ngopa playground to inspect progress on its sports infrastructure upgrade—funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC). Contractors have been directed to complete the turfing and seating works by October, in time for the planned inauguration ceremony.

Vanlalhlima, Superintending Engineer, Power & Electricity Department; Ms. Dorothy Muansangi, SDO(C), Ngopa; Er. Laltanpuia, Executive Engineer (Civil); Er. Ng. Lalruatsanga, Executive Engineer, Khawzawl Power Division; and Mr. Zoremsanga, Geologist, Directorate of Geology & Mining.
