Online Applications for Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Honor Scheme Open Until July 31

Senior litterateurs and artists with significant contributions can apply on the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal

Mumbai : The Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, has invited online applications for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Senior Litterateur and Artist Honor Scheme, which offers a monthly honorarium of ₹5,000 to 100 senior individuals who have made noteworthy contributions in the fields of literature and the arts.

Eligible senior writers and artists are encouraged to submit their applications through the Aaple Sarkar portal by July 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: Applicants must be above 50 years. For specially-abled artists, the age limit is relaxed to 40 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of contribution in the field of art or literature is required.
  • Priority: Preference will be given to widows, abandoned women, differently-abled, and elderly artists.
  • Income Limit: Annual income should not exceed ₹60,000.
  • Occupation: The applicant’s primary source of livelihood must be art.
  • Pension: The applicant should not be a beneficiary of any regular pension scheme of the central or state government.
  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.

  • Age proof
  • Aadhaar card
  • Income certificate
  • Domicile/residence certificate
  • Affidavit
  • Joint photograph with spouse (if applicable)
  • Bank passbook copy
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
  • Other relevant government certificates (if applicable)
  • Recommendation letter from a recognized institution or individual (if applicable)

Interested and eligible individuals must ensure all documents are uploaded while applying through the official portal.
