Deadline Extended to August 15, 2025, for HSRP Installation on Old Vehicles
Mumbai : The Maharashtra government has made the installation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) mandatory for vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. The earlier deadline to comply was June 30, 2025, but due to a low response from vehicle owners, the deadline has now been extended to August 15, 2025, according to a press release issued by Joint Transport Commissioner (IT) Shailesh Kamat.
Vehicle owners are required to book an appointment for HSRP installation by visiting the Transport Department’s website: http://transport.maharashtra.gov.in. If an appointment is booked before August 15, 2025, no penal action will be taken against the vehicle.
However, vehicles found without HSRP after the deadline, especially during checks by enforcement teams, will face strict action as per the rules, the Transport Department has warned.
Shailesh Kamat, Joint Transport Commissioner (IT), has urged all vehicle owners to complete the necessary procedure within the stipulated deadline to avoid any legal consequences.
