Rajasthan’s Glorious Police Tradition Will Be Carried Forward; State to Be Made a Model of Policing: DGP Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma
Jaipur : Newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma has stated that Rajasthan Police has always upheld a proud and distinguished legacy. “We must carry this tradition forward, especially the force’s motto — ‘Public Trust, Fear Among Criminals’ — and elevate it to new heights,” he said. “We must fulfill the responsibility of public service entrusted to us by the government with utmost dedication and sincerity.”
Addressing the media at the Police Headquarters on Thursday, DGP Sharma expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and the state government for the trust placed in him.
He emphasized that every citizen should have easy access to police services at their local police stations and that police personnel must maintain respectful and sensitive conduct. “The expectations of the people from the police must be met. The Rajasthan Police team must work with alertness and compassion to fulfill these duties,” he said.
Sharma highlighted the need to leverage modern technology extensively in policing to effectively prevent and investigate crimes. “Public safety and dignity are our top priorities, and we will give the highest importance to public participation in achieving these goals,” he added.
Welfare of Policemen and Strict Enforcement of Laws
DGP Sharma also stressed that the welfare and well-being of police personnel — who serve the public day and night — will be given due attention. “In line with the state government’s vision, we are ensuring strict implementation of the new criminal laws, and the results are already proving to be positive.”
Rajasthan to Become a Model State for Policing
Sharma stated that through these coordinated efforts, the Rajasthan Police will promote sensitive and responsive policing, and ensure tight surveillance and prevention of rising cybercrime. “Our resolution is to establish Rajasthan as a model state in terms of policing across the country.”
He concluded by reaffirming the focus on citizen security and dignity, and said that through collective efforts and public participation, effective crime control will remain the central objective.
“Together, through integrated efforts, we will build a safer Rajasthan,” DGP Sharma said.
