CM Dhami Engages with Students in ‘Bal Samvad’ Program, Emphasizes Strengthening Sports Culture
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday directly interacted with school students during the ‘Bal Samvad’ (Children’s Dialogue) program held via video conferencing from the Tourist Rest House in Tanakpur. The event connected the CM with students from various schools in Champawat district, aiming to assess the progress of sports activities in schools and to gather insights into the needs and suggestions of young athletes.
CM Dhami personally spoke with students including Gaurav from R.I.K. Champawat, Preeti from R.I.K. Pati, Kanchan from R.B.I.K. Tanakpur, Sagar from R.I.K. Chaumel, and Monika from R.B.I.K. Champawat, enquiring about the availability of sports facilities, resources, and training opportunities in their schools.
Students shared that they were regular beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Udiyaman Khiladi Protsahan Yojana, a government scheme that is helping them enhance their athletic skills through financial and infrastructural support.
Encouraging the students, CM Dhami urged them to give equal importance to sports alongside academics. He said that Uttarakhand is not only known as Devbhoomi (land of the gods), but is now emerging as Khelbhoomi (land of sports). He described the youth as the torchbearers of Amrit Kaal, emphasizing the importance of discipline, time management, and hard work in achieving success.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s strong commitment to providing a solid platform for sports talent and promoting a culture of sports in the state. He highlighted initiatives like the State Sports Policy and the Mukhyamantri Udiyaman Khiladi Yojana as significant steps toward the holistic development of young people in Uttarakhand.
A large number of students and teaching staff from schools in Champawat, Pati, Chaumel, Tanakpur, and Chamdewal regions participated in the program.
