Farmer Sukhsay Benefits from Rabi and Kharif Crops with Improved Irrigation Support

Solar Sujala and Shakambhari Schemes Turn Farming into a Profitable Venture

Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is committed to extending every possible support to farmers and ensuring they benefit from various government schemes. In this direction, the Agriculture Department in Jashpur district is actively working to empower farmers and make them self-reliant through timely assistance.

One such beneficiary is Shri Sukhsay, a farmer from Ginabahar village in the Kunkuri development block of Jashpur district. He owns 2 hectares of agricultural land but was previously unable to fully cultivate it due to limited irrigation facilities. Initially, he relied on a single well for irrigation, but faced difficulties due to the unavailability of a proper pump.

This year, the Agriculture Department provided him with an electric pump under the Shakambhari Scheme, which allowed him to cultivate wheat. Additionally, a borewell was installed on his land, and a solar pump was provided under the Solar Sujala Scheme. With this setup, he now uses a sprinkler system for irrigation.

As a result, Shri Sukhsay is now able to carry out farming during both Rabi and Kharif seasons. Where cultivation was once limited, he can now utilize his entire land due to improved irrigation, leading to increased productivity. Expressing his gratitude to the state government and the Agriculture Department, Shri Sukhsay said that these schemes have strengthened his livelihood and restored farming as a profitable means of income.
