Labour Welfare Centres to be Upgraded Across Chhattisgarh
Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra Reviews Centre Operations
Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is actively running several welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of workers and their families. These initiatives are designed to enhance the social and economic status of labourers through continuous financial and developmental support.
As part of this mission, the Chhattisgarh Labour Welfare Board currently operates 20 Labour Welfare Centres across various industrial districts in the state. These centres provide skill development training in tailoring and embroidery to female members of registered workers’ families. Thousands of women have already been trained through this program and connected to employment opportunities.
Labour Welfare Board Chairman Shri Yogesh Dutt Mishra recently convened a review meeting with staff managing these centres. He engaged directly with the employees, listened to their challenges, and discussed potential solutions to improve the functioning of the centres in the future.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Mishra described the Labour Welfare Centres as model institutions that will be further upgraded and modernized. In addition to sewing, embroidery, and weaving, other employment-oriented training programs will be introduced to expand livelihood opportunities for beneficiaries. He also announced a salary increase for the women running these centres, acknowledging their contributions and encouraging them to continue delivering high-quality training.
Emphasising the importance of self-reliance, Shri Mishra urged the staff to ensure that the training imparted at the centres is of a standard that enables participants to start their own businesses and contribute to their family’s income growth.
The meeting began with an introduction of the attending staff by Centre In-charge Smt. Monika Mishra. The employees warmly welcomed the Board Chairman. The session included detailed discussions with all staff members. Labour Welfare Board Commissioner Shri Ajitesh Pandey and other board officials were also present at the meeting.
