Special express train departs for Pandharpur.

Mumbai : In the victory cry of ‘Jnanoba Mauli-Tukaram’, a special express departed today afternoon from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai, towards Pandharpur on the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi. Along with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, devotees showed their support by waving flags to bless the pilgrimage journey.

Minister of Skill Development Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Legislative Assembly President Adv. Rahul Narwekar, and MLA Ashish Shelar were present with railway officials.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis stated, “The Pandharpur pilgrimage holds great historical significance. It is a matter of pride and devotion for Maharashtrians. The aspiration to participate in Vitthal’s pilgrimage resonates deeply among Marathi people. To facilitate this pilgrimage from Mumbai to Pandharpur, a special express has been launched.”

The Pandharpur pilgrimage holds a special place in Maharashtra’s cultural heritage. Every individual aspires to undertake this journey at least once. To fulfill this desire for Mumbaikars amidst their busy lives, a special express service to Pandharpur has been initiated. The express departed at 3 PM from CSMT today and will return from Pandharpur to Mumbai at 11 AM on July 18.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the state has launched the ‘Chief Minister Tirthdarshan Yojana’. This initiative aims to provide pilgrimage benefits to citizens aged above 60, as highlighted by Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis.
