Deputy CM Dr. Premchand Bairwa’s Visit to Rajsamand: Inaugurates New College Rooms Worth ₹1.22 Cr, Distributes Scooties to 22 Girls

“These efforts reflect our vision, commitment, and belief in the power of education,” says Dr. Bairwa

Jaipur : On Tuesday, Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa bestowed several educational gifts upon Rajsamand district during his visit. At Seth Ranglal Kothari Government College, he inaugurated five newly constructed classrooms built at a cost of ₹1.22 crore. As part of the Kalibai Bhil Meritorious Student Scooty Scheme and the Devnarayan Student Scooty Distribution Scheme, he also handed over scooties to 22 girl students, who were visibly overjoyed. Smiling, the students said they now felt empowered and that distance would no longer be a barrier to education.

Dr. Bairwa emphasized that the new classrooms are the foundation of self-reliance and will help youth become active participants in the development of a progressive India. With the help of these scooties, girls will no longer be dependent on others and can pursue uninterrupted education. Reflecting on his visit to Mewar, he stated that Rajasthan’s future is bright and rooted in quality education.

He further said that the day was not merely about laying a foundation stone or inaugurating a building—it was symbolic of the government’s vision, commitment, and belief in the transformative power of education. Standing on this sacred and historic land of Mewar, he expressed confidence in Rajasthan’s bright future, driven by excellence in education.

Dr. Bairwa highlighted that this was not just infrastructure development but a foundation for innovation, self-reliance, and confidence among youth. The college currently has 1,737 enrolled students, including 788 boys and 949 girls—indicating growing awareness and enthusiasm for education among young women. To further encourage this, the scooties were distributed.

He also noted that, due to the government’s strong resolve, 33 new government colleges were announced in this year’s budget—21 co-educational and 12 exclusively for women. This, he said, is not just a statistic but a testament to the government’s educational commitment.

Currently, Rajasthan has 664 government colleges—373 under RAJSIACS and 291 directly run by the government. This expansion isn’t merely numerical growth but the result of a policy aimed at providing quality education to every village and community.

Dr. Bairwa expressed pride that the government inaugurated buildings for 142 government and RAJSIACS colleges this year, emphasizing that the administration values quality over quantity. He reaffirmed that the state’s education policy is based on providing equal opportunities and quality learning.

Under the Swami Vivekananda Academic Excellence Scholarship, 300 seats have been reserved for students to pursue higher education abroad and 200 seats for top institutions in India at government expense. For technical education, BBA courses have been approved at colleges across all 33 district headquarters and MBA courses in seven divisional centers. BCA and MCA courses have also been initiated.

Development Announcements by MP and MLA
During the program, Rajsamand MP Smt. Mahima Kumari Mewar announced ₹30 lakh for the development of the college ground, while Rajsamand MLA Deepti Maheshwari announced ₹10 lakh for a new state-of-the-art library. Their announcements were met with loud applause from the crowd, who expressed their gratitude.
