Registrations Open for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Trophy Games 2025 with ₹37 Crore in Prizes

Tamil Nadu’s Hon’ble Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister, Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin, officially launched the registration process today (17.07.2025) for the Chief Minister’s Trophy Games 2025, which offers a total prize money of ₹37 crore.

The Chief Minister’s Trophy Games aim to foster a sporting culture across Tamil Nadu and to identify and nurture talent at all levels—from school and college students to government employees and differently-abled athletes.

In 2024, district, zonal, and state-level competitions were conducted under this initiative with a budget allocation of ₹83.37 crore. The 2025 edition of the Chief Minister’s Trophy Games is scheduled to be held from 22nd August to 12th September 2025, across district, zonal, and state levels.

Competition Categories:

Participants will compete in five divisions:

  1. School Students
  2. College Students
  3. Youth Category
  4. Differently-Abled Athletes
  5. Government Employees

Events will be held in:

  • 25 disciplines at the district level
  • 7 disciplines at the zonal level
  • 37 disciplines at the state level

Eligibility & Registration:

  • School students (up to 19 years, classes 6–12)
  • College students (up to 25 years)
  • Youth category (ages 15 to 35)
  • Differently-abled individuals
  • Government employees (state and central, including PSU employees working in Tamil Nadu)

Prize Structure (State-Level Competitions):

Individual Events:

  • 1st Prize: ₹1,00,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹75,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹50,000

Team Events (per person):

  • 1st Prize: ₹75,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹50,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹25,000

Apart from cash awards, winners may receive special sports scholarships and career opportunities.

The launch event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Mr. Atulya Misra, IAS, and Member Secretary of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Nanda Maruthi, IAS, alongside other government officials and athletes.
