Trump to Visit UK for Trade Talks and Royal Engagements

President Trump to meet PM Keir Starmer in Scotland from July 25–29; State visit to Windsor Castle with King Charles set for September

Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump will visit Scotland from July 25 to 29, where he will meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the recently implemented UK–US trade agreement. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt confirmed the visit on Thursday, highlighting both trade talks and diplomatic engagements.

“President Donald Trump will travel to Scotland, where he will visit both Turnberry and Aberdeen,” Levitt said. “During this visit, the President will meet with Prime Minister Starmer to further strengthen the major trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom.”

The UK–US trade agreement officially came into effect on June 30. The deal significantly benefits the UK’s automotive and aerospace sectors. British car manufacturers now enjoy a reduced tariff quota when exporting to the United States, slashing tariffs by 10% and potentially saving hundreds of millions of dollars annually. The move is also expected to generate millions of jobs across the two sectors.

The UK’s aerospace industry has similarly received a major boost, with the removal of a 10% tariff on key components such as aircraft engines and spare parts. A long-term commitment has been made to keep these tariffs at zero, further enhancing transatlantic trade relations.

In addition to the July visit, Levitt also announced that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have accepted an invitation for a state visit to the United Kingdom later this year. The visit is scheduled for September 17 to 19, 2025, and will include a royal engagement with King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

“This will be President Trump’s second state visit to the United Kingdom, and he is honored and excited to meet His Majesty the King,” Levitt added.

The British Royal Palace confirmed the state visit in a formal statement: “The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty the King for a state visit to the United Kingdom. His Majesty will host the President and First Lady at Windsor Castle.”

Further details of the royal itinerary will be released in the coming weeks, marking a new chapter in US–UK relations under the new trade agreement and political leadership.
